Let’s do this!

This is my first DietBet since 2014. I failed that bet horribly. It was a six month transformer bet and I was booted during the first round of cuts. I tried to write a blog series about it to keep myself accountable. Nope.

Back in 2014 I was just coming off my first full marathon. I wanted another challenge, as if the marathon wasn’t enough for one year. Today I am coming off of nothing, nada, zip. I already feel like I am starting off on a better foot than how it was back then. It is also a 37 pound lighter foot…


DietBet may be for four weeks but doesn’t it only take 21 days for something to become a habit? I spent June through August letting my healthy habits slide thus leading to maintaining my weight all summer. That would be a super thing, if I was already at goal weight. This DietBet is the kick in the pants that I very much need. With a goal of 7.9 pounds to lose within the bet, it is a definite kick indeed.
Laying out a plan and sticking to it is fundamental for success. I know the aspects of my daily grind that need to be tweaked to ensure my weight loss graph shows a downward slope. Besides the obvious parts of the plan, eat right and exercise, my attitude is everything. I recognize my past disappointments when I tried Diet Betbefore but that doesn’t mean it is my truth now. Past failures aren’t worth a dime unless I just throw up my hands and say “well this always happens!” Ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy?
